Dr. David M. Githii, former Moderator of General Assembly in the PCEA denomination (2003-2009) was raised at Gikambura village, Kiambu County not far from Alliance High School. He is a born-again Christian who took his studies at Gikambura Primary school then proceeded to Kirangari High School for his secondary education. He would later join Thogoto Teachers Training College.

Dr. David Githii then taught in various schools in Nakuru County as Head Master before joining the Holy ministry. He therefore took theological studies at the current St. Paul’s University, graduating with a Bachelor of Divinity Degree (BD). After ordination, he labored in various Parishes. He pursued post graduate studies at University of Dubuque, Iowa in the USA where he attained a Master’s Degree in Religion (MAR). He then proceeded to Fuller Theological Seminary in California, USA where he attained a Master’s Degree in Theology (THM) and a Doctorate Degree in Missiology (DMIS). He also undertook extensive leadership studies and research in Scotland. He has taught in various institutions of higher learning such as; Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA), Day Star University, St. Paul’s University, Presbyterian College and PCEA Lay Training among others.

Dr. David Githii has held other senior administrative and leadership positions in Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) both as presbytery moderator and presbytery clerk at different times and in different places in Kenya. He was Director of Lay Training in PCEA. He is an author of a number of books as well as the founder of both Cheptoroi Secondary School in Nakuru County and El Gibbor Altar Ministries. He pioneered the establishment of PUEA where he became its 1st. Chancellor. Dr. David Githii is widely travelled worldwide.
