We've reimagined the library. Our community program allows readers to access premium, locally-authored books for a fraction of the cost, while ensuring authors receive a recurring payout every time their book is chosen.

A. Reader Guidelines

(The Reader’s Haven)

The System

No daily late fees. Borrow a story, take it home to Old Town or the North Coast, and enjoy it for a full month (28-day cycle).

The Swap

Pay a standard exchange fee of Ksh 150 per swap.

Member Bonus

Your very first swap after registration is FREE.

Membership Tiers

(Refundable Deposits)

Tier 1 (The Explorer) - Ksh 500 Deposit

Access to standard editions (Retail value up to 500/-).

Tier 2 (The Bibliophile) - Ksh 1,000 Deposit

Access to mid-value titles (Retail value up to 1,000/-).

Tier 3 (The Connoisseur) - Ksh 2,000 Deposit

Unlimited access to the entire collection, including premium hardbacks.

Eligibility

Exclusive to titles published under the Elong'o Publishers imprint.

Inventory Requirement

Authors provide 3 to 10 physical copies per title to the branch.

Earnings Breakdown

Author Payout

Ksh 100 per exchange.

Branch Admin Fee

Ksh 50 per exchange.

Payout Schedule

Earnings are sent via M-Pesa every 3 months (Quarterly).

Security

Reader deposits cover 100% of the book's retail value in the event of loss or non-return (>35 days).
